Sharp albumen photograph by Skowen & Co., circa 1880’s of the railway cutting through the Ceylon mountains.  This very dramatic image has rich tones with some fading on the perimeter.  There is some rounding to the top corner and a couple of extremely small nicks on the border.  It is unmounted and measures 8 ½” x 10 5/8.”
